There are always cheers and tears at every awards ceremony and this year’s Oliviers were no exception. We’ve been trawling through Twitter to find some of the best reactions to who won and lost on the big night.

There’s the West End cast of Hamilton opening the Olivier Awards ceremony, US musical theatre legend Chita Rivera will lead a West Side Story tribute and past stars of Joseph are celebrating the show’s 50th anniversary – it’s going to be quite a night…

The Stage's inaugural Debut Awards has brand-new musical theatre talent categories including Best Actor in a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical and Best Composer. There's also a Best West End Debut category which includes some already very big names. How many of your #StageFaves are in the running?

Last month Andy Karl won the top prize at the #OlivierAwards for his fantastic portrayal of Phil Connors in Tim Minchin's musical GROUNDHOG DAY. After taking the show across the pond to Broadway, he's now nominated for a Tony Award too! The nominations for the 2017 #TonyAwards have finally been announced and two shows first seen in London have been nominated for major awards. The Magnificent MISS SAIGON and the glorious GROUNDHOG DAY have been nominated for Best Musical Revival and Best New Musical respectively. To top it all off, West End #StageFaves Andy Karl and Eva Noblezada have been nominated too. Both performers completed a West End run before jetting off to Broadway and we couldn't be more excited that such great British talent is being celebrated over on the Great White Way!
