Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’s John McCrea was on the sofa in the Olivier Awards’ Facebook studio, plus Girl From the North Country’s Sheila Atim gave viewers a quick sneak peek into her dressing room...

Carrie Hope Fletcher hosted a packed second episode of Road To The Olivers with plenty for musical theatre fans to enjoy. Two actresses nominated in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical were featured, with Lesley Joseph, currently appearing in Young Frankenstein, explaining to Carrie how “extraordinary” it was to work with Mel Brooks, and Girl From the North Country’s Sheila Atim giving a 60-second tour of her dressing room at the Noel Coward Theatre (including her baby bump!).

Also featured was Best Actor in a Musical nominee John McCrea for Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Apollo Theatre. Asked by a member of the studio audience if he had ever imagined what Jamie’s drag act would be like, he suggested: “Something classic and dramatic, singing Elkie Brooks’ ‘Don’t Cry Out Loud’ while dressed in a big gown.” John and the cast of Jamie will be performing the show’s opening number, ‘And You Don't Even Know It’ during the Olivier Awards ceremony.

Bringing the broadcast to a close was the case of Five Guys Named Moe singing a stylish a cappella version of ‘Knock Me a Kiss’. The four-part Road To The Oliviers Facebook series continues on 29 March and 6 April.

Catherine Tate will host the awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 8 April and they will be broadcast to the UK and worldwide. Full broadcast details will be announced at a later.
