The final cast of Kinky Boots

After the announcement of Dreamgirls last week, we're doubly gutted to hear that its neighbour along the Strand, fellow Broadway transfer KINKY BOOTS, will also be finishing its West End run on the very same day, 12 January 2019. How many times will you be able to see Charlie, Lola and the girls before the show closes? (Starting this weekend at West End Live perhaps?!)

Kinky Boots has posted West End closing notices for 12 January 2019 at the Adelphi Theatre. Its final London cast will be led by Simon-Anthony Rhoden as Lola and, having just taken over 4 June, Oliver Thompsett as Charlie and Natalie McQueen as Lauren. A separate UK tour launches on 19 September 2018 from the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton, where the story is set.

Inspired by true events, and the 2005 British film, Kinky Boots takes you from a gentlemen’s shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Charlie Price is struggling to live up to his father’s expectations and continue the family business of Price & Son. With the factory’s future hanging in the balance, help arrives in the unlikely but spectacular form of Lola, a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos.

With a book by Harvey Fierstein, music by Cyndi Lauper and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots has won every major Best Musical award since opening at the Adelphi in 2015. It transferred from Broadway, where it premiered in 2013 and won six Tony Awards.

The current London cast also features Sean Needham (Don), Cordelia Farnworth (Nicola) and Antony Reed (George). They’re joined by Abbey Addams, Jak Allen-Anderson, Louis Clarke-Clare, Daniel Downing, David Haydn, Graham Kent, Christopher Parkinson, Hannah Price, Anna Stolli, Olivia Winterflood, Jed Berry, Momar Diagne, Jemal Felix, Jordan Fox, Rossie Glossop, Robert Grose, Keith Higham, Ben Jennings, Robert Jones, Suzie McAdam, Emma Odell, Jon Reynolds and Tom Scanlon.

Kinky Boots is produced by Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig, James L. Nederlander, Terry Allen Kramer, Playful Productions, CJ E&M, Jayne Baron Sherman, Just for Laughs Theatricals/Judith Ann Abrams, Yasuhiro Kawana, Jane Bergère, Allan S. Gordon & Adam S. Gordon, Ken Davenport, Hunter Arnold, Lucy and Phil Suarez, Bryan Bantry, Ron Fierstein & Dorsey Regal, Independent Presenters Network, Jim Kierstead/Gregory Rae, BB Group/Christina Papagjika, Brian Smith/Tom & Connie Walsh, Warren Trepp, and Jujamcyn Theaters, in association with Cameron Mackintosh.

#LondonGetsKinky at West End Live

At this weekend's West End Live, the cast of Kinky Boots perform at 11.50am on Saturday. Remember when Lola and the girls rocked Trafalgar Square last year? "Don't be embarrassed about looking at me: I LOVE being looked at!"
