This show is now closed

On the 7 January 2017, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory completed its run at Theatre Royal Drury Lane after 1,527 SCHNOZZTASTIC performances! Now ranking as one of the top longest running shows, it joins Miss Saigon, My Fair Lady, and 42nd Street. With an audience of over 2.5 million, it has twice smashed the West End’s highest ever reported weekly grosses. Going into rehearsal this month, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory officially opens at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York on the 23 April.

Charlie Chocolate and the Chocolate Factory is proud to announce the Imagination Awards - two separate awards which will each champion creativity and inspire the next generation of theatre makers: The awards were announced at TheatreCraft - http://www.theatrecraft.org – the essential, free, “beyond the stage” careers fair for anyone aged 16 – 25 looking for a non-performance career in theatre. Charlie's Challenge has been designed to be inclusive for all young people. It's a classic from the original film that reminded audiences on the West End and then Broadway why they fell in love with the story to begin with. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is one of the best loved Roald Dahl books of all time and in 2013 it took the plunge to become a stage musical. Here, Jonathan Slinger is joined by all of the Charlie Buckets, singing "Pure Imagination" which originally featured in the 1971 film.
