Knights of the Rose casting

KNIGHTS OF THE ROSE, an epic medieval tale featuring a timeless playlist of classic rock songs, will run at London's Arts Theatre for a limited nine-week season from 29 June to 26 August 2018, with a press night on 5 July. Initial casting, including Oliver Savile and Adam Pearce, has been announced - and they're now on #StageFaves!

Leading the noble Knights is Adam Pearce (King Aethelstan), who is joined by Chris Cowley (Palamon), Oliver Savile (Hugo), Rebecca Bainbridge (Queen Matilda / Bess), Rebekah Lowings (Isabel), Matt Thorpe (Horatio), Ruben Van Keer (John), Katie Birtill (Hannah) and Bleu Woodward (Emily). Ian Gareth-Jones, Kelly Hampson and Tom Bales make up the ensemble.

The jukebox musical, created by Jennifer Marsen and directed and choreographed by Racky Plews, is headlined by five of Bon Jovi's biggest hits (Blaze of Glory, Blood on Blood, Always, Bed of Roses and This Is Love, This Is Life) and also includes rock classics by Bonnie Tyler, Meatloaf, No Doubt and others. It's directed and choreographed by Racky Plews (American Idiot, Footloose, Thoroughly Modern Millie), designed by Diego Pitarch and presented by Romance of the Rose Productions.

In this epic tale of betrayal, love, bloodshed and redemption, the noble Knights of the Rose must defend their house and their honour. Even as the chivalrous knights return from a glorious victory, a greater threat against the kingdom stirs. As they face the greatest battle of the age and betrayal threatens to tear them apart, can true love and honour triumph?

With rich interwoven literature from Marlowe, Shakespeare and Chaucer mixed with legendary classic rock music, KNIGHTS OF THE ROSE is a fusion of popular culture, evocative of Game of Thrones and Bat out of Hell. It's a high-voltage musical of Shakespearean proportions.
