Natasha Barnes has been signed by Sony Music...

She's had a fantastic few years, becoming a West-End sensation in FUNNY GIRL and going on to reprise the role in the UK and Ireland tour but now it's time for Natasha Barnes to break out into the music business in her own right! Sony Music has announced her debut single Supermodel, will be released this September, followed by a whole album of original and classic tunes...

Sony Music have announced Natasha Barnes’ debut single, Supermodel, will be released on Friday 8 September 2017. Supermodel will be the first single from Natasha’s forthcoming album, Real. In the main, the album will feature original songs showcasing her uniquely expressive voice, coupled with unexpected classics inspired by her love of trawling through vintage record stores.

Natasha first came to the public’s attention last summer when she stepped into the role of Fanny Brice for the West End run of FUNNY GIRL at the Savoy Theatre, becoming a 5 star critical wonder – the Daily Telegraph calling her ‘a sensation in her own right… She has a charisma and twinkling mischief that’s irresistible’, and from the Daily Mail, ‘An exceptional lead performance’. This was swiftly followed by Natasha playing the title role in the London Palladium’s all-star CINDERELLA at Christmas and Natasha has since completed a major UK and Ireland tour of FUNNY GIRL, reprising the role of Fanny Brice.

Natasha said, “When I first heard Supermodel, I knew it was the song I wanted to sing. Young women today have an immense pressure on them to conform to an idealised version of beauty, and to fit into a mould which, I believe, is simply unattainable and unrealistic. We should only ever be ourselves and that should be celebrated. For me, this song speaks to that spirit and very much the woman in me.”

Sony Music is renowned for its stage-superstar history with a back catalogue including Julie Andrews, Leonard Bernstein, Kristin Chenoweth, and the original Funny Girl, Barbra Streisand.
