To coincide with ONCE's first UK tour - and our competition to win tickets - we're embracing one critic's sentiment that "Once is not enough" to celebrate this musical, with our new series of videos about the show. First up, watch, listen and swoon to two versions of the Oscar-winning song "Falling Slowly".

Based on the critically acclaimed and much-loved film, ONCE - based on the cult 2007 Irish indie feature, originally shot on a micro-budget of just $160,000 - tells the uplifting yet yearning story of two lost souls - a Dublin street busker and a Czech musician - who unexpectedly fall in love. Following their relationship across five short days, big changes happen to both of them in little ways.

On this first major UK tour, the cast is led by Daniel Healy as Guy and Emma Lucia as Girl, who return to the roles after receiving critical and audience acclaim in the production’s 2018 premiere at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich and Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch.

Falling Slowly x 2

The song is was written, composed and performed in the 2007 film by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, the original Guy and Girl. It was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award and won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song.

When Daniel Healy and Emma Lucia were announced to play Guy and Girl for the first outing of this UK production in 2018 at Queen's Theatre Hornchurch and New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich, producers released their version of "Falling Slowly" by way of introduction.
