We are just a little bit excited to hear that Pitch Perfect star and Dear Evan Hansen Tony Award winner Ben Platt will be bringing his Sing To Me Instead tour to London’s Eventim Apollo on 15 June 2019. Today is already a good day.

Actor, singer and songwriter Ben Platt won a huge following after originating the lead role in Dear Evan Hansen, firstly in Washington, D.C. and then on Broadway. He then went on to sign with Atlantic Records and has recently released his debut solo album Sing To Me Instead

Previous to that, Platt appeared in a Hollywood Bowl production of The Music Man co-starring Kristin Chenoweth and as Elder Arnold Cunningham in the Chicago production of The Book of Mormon. He also jumped to the big screen as Benji Applebaum in Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2.

Speaking about the new album and his songwriting, Ben Platt said: “Evan Hansen was very emotionally enlightening and exposed me to a lot of different life moments. Making the album was the perfect chance to start trying to put those into music.

“I’d really love for you to know more about who I am and get a glimpse into my heart – not under the guise of a character or any other context – just truly me. And maybe, the tunes get stuck in your head, you play them on the road, and you sing them all the time.”

The concert on 15 June begins at 6pm and Platt is supported by London-based songwriter James TW. The West End production of Dear Evan Hansen previews at the Noël Coward Theatre from 29 October 2019.
