It’s nearly 40 years since the classic movie was released, but the themes in 9 To 5 will strike a chord with a whole new audience when the musical version opens at London’s Savoy Theatre in January 2019. Are you looking forward to living the Dolly daydream?

Dolly Parton’s 9 To 5 The Musical will open at London’s Savoy Theatre for a strictly limited season from 28 January to 31 August 2019 starring Louise Redknapp as Violet Newstead, Amber Davies as Judy Bernly, Natalie McQueen as Doralee Rhodes and Brian Conley as Franklin Hart.

9 To 5 The Musical features a book by Patricia Resnick, the film’s original screenwriter, and an original Oscar, Grammy and Tony Award-nominated score by country legend and pop icon Dolly Parton. The musical is directed by Jeff Calhoun, with choreography by Lisa Stevens.

It tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy – three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the girls manage to reform their office – or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?

Dolly Parton is the most honoured female country performer of all time. Achieving 25 RIAA certified Gold, Platinum, and multi-Platinum awards, she has had 26 songs reach No. 1 on the Billboard country charts, a record for a female artist. She has 41 career Top 10 country albums, a record for any artist, and she has 110 career-charted singles over the past 40 years.
