Tyrone Huntley features in Monstersongs' UK premiere

It's a graphic novel, it's an album, it's an interactive, virtual-reality-infused concert and, after success at NAMT's renowned 30th annual festival of new musicals in New York, it's coming to London. Rob Rokicki's MONSTERSONGS gets its UK premiere for two performances only next week at The Other Palace. Who's joining Tyrone Huntley in the cast? Plus, watch the trailer here...

The UK premiere production of Rob Rokicki's Monstersongs runs at London's The Other Palace for two performances only, on 5 and 6 November 2018, with a cast including Evening Standard award-winning West End star Tyrone Huntley.

Monstersongs is a unique theatrical event that "roars with originality... a chillingly inventive musical experience" (BroadwayWorld). It puts audiences in a synthesized world of graphic novels, rock musicals, live performance, and new technology. A portal into the psyches of often misunderstood creatures; the hsow flips the switch on the monster narrative, inviting audiences to explore the humanity that binds us all.

Written by Rob Rokicki, the composer of the critically acclaimed Drama Desk and Lortel Nominated The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical (book Joe Tracz), and developed in conjunction with award-winning illustrator David O'Neill, Monstersongs is also a beautiful graphic novel - artwork from the book is project during the live show, enhancing the audience's experience.

The world premiere recording of Monstersongs was released by Broadway Records and features Broadway stars Megan Hilty (Smash), Jelani Alladin (Frozen) and Julia Murney (Wicked). The stage show was an official selection of the National Alliance of Musical Theatre's (NAMT) 30th Annual Festival of New Musicals in New York this month.

In addition to Tyrone Huntley, the London cast features George Damms, Amanda Flynn, Cleopatra Higgins, Bradley Riches and Sinéad WallMonstersongs is directed by Ryan Watson and produced by Denise Koch.

The concert at The Other Palace also features a five-minute Virtual Reality experience of the song "Footprints" from Monstersongs.
