Despite five star reviews the UK professional premiere production of legendary composer Michel Legrand’s musical comedy Amour will end its run early, on 8 June 2019, having played 45 performances. There’s only two more weeks to see this “genuinely enchanting” and “utterly gorgeous” production so there’s no time to waste in booking your tickets.

The production, directed by Hannah Chissick and featuring Gary Tushaw, Anna O’Byrne, Alasdair Harvey, Elissa Churchill, Claire Machin, Keith Ramsay, Jack Reitman, Steven Serlin, Alistair So and Laura Barnard, was scheduled to run at London’s Charing Cross Theatre to 20 July 2019.

Producer Danielle Tarento said:

“I want to thank and applaud the brilliant company and creative team who created a beautiful production that received critical acclaim, nightly standing ovations and received eight Off West End Award nominations. I am so incredibly proud of this gorgeous show and I hope London will give it the rousing send-off it deserves in its final two weeks.”

This belated UK professional premiere production (it opened on Broadway in 2002) was hailed by the critics including Mark Shenton, who awarded it five stars and declared: “I absolutely adored it”; while Time Out (four stars) called it “genuinely enchanting” and “utterly gorgeous”.

Amour’s eight Off West End Award nominations are for Best New Musical, Director (Hannah Chissick) musical director (Jordan Li-Smith), costume design (Adrian Gee), lighting design (Rob Halliday), sound design (Andrew Johnson) Male Performance in a Musical (Gary Tushaw) and Female Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Claire Machin).

Amour continues at Charing Cross Theatre, The Arches, Villiers Street, London WC2N 6NL, with performances Mondays to Saturdays at 7.30pm, matinees Wednesdays at 2.30pm and Saturdays at 3pm. Tickets are priced £22.50-£32.50. CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE!
