The West End‘s current Roxie Hart and Billy Flynn are proving popular, so Alexandra Burke and Duncan James have extended their stays in Chicago. In other news: Josefina Gabrielle returns to play Velma Kelly on 22 October 2018. And that’s showbiz...

Alexandra Burke will play Roxie Hart until 10 November 2018 and Duncan James will play Billy Flynn until 17 November. Laura Tyrer will play Velma Kelly until 20 October followed by Josefina Gabrielle who returns to the role of Velma Kelly from 22 October to 5 January 2019.

Mazz Murray continues to play Mama Morton and Paul Rider continues to play Amos Hart. Chicago is booking until Saturday 5 January 2019. Burke will not appear from 15-24 October and James will not appear from 6-12 November. Sarah Soetaert will play the role of Roxie Hart between 15-24 October.

Following a successful UK and international tour, and after a five and a half year absence from London, the Kander and Ebb musical, winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy, began performances at the Phoenix Theatre in London on 26 March 2018, with a press night on 11 April.

The show is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, has a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. The 1996 Broadway revival of Chicago was choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse, directed by Walter Bobbie, and produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.
