Don't lose your head: Six returns

The Tudor queens are ready to rule again! After extended, sell-out showcase dates earlier this year, SIX The Musical, about the six wives of Henry VIII, is returning to the Arts Theatre for a full season after a triumphant reprisal at this summer's Edinburgh Fringe...

SIX will reign anew at London's Arts Theatre from 30 August to 23 September 2018, with a gala night on 6 September.

From Tudor queens to pop princesses, the SIX wives of Henry VIII finally take the mic to tell their tale, remixing five hundred years of her-storical heartbreak into a 75-minute celebration of sisterly sass-itude. Powered by an all-female band and with songs including Ex Wives, Haus of Holbein and Don’t Lose Ur Head, this pop concert musical by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss is widely tipped to be one of the most exciting new shows of 2018.

Prior to the West End premiere, SIX will run this summer at Norwich Playhouse (11-14 July) and Cambridge Arts Theatre (17-21 July). In addition, following last year’s sell-out amateur run, the musical will return to the Edinburgh Fringe to the main Udderbelly purple cow in George Square (1-27 August).

SIX is a co-production between Kenny Wax and Global Musicals. Wendy Barnes of Global Musicals said:

“Kenny, Andy and I saw the previous production independently of each other but we were all immediately blown away by the funny, relevant humour and infectious score that these two young talents had created. We are proud to debut their first musical and begin an ambitious and exciting journey for the piece, which is particularly relevant at this time as we strive for female equality and empowerment. These women were so much more than history would have us believe.”

The production is directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage and designed by Emma Bailey, with costumes by Gabriella Slade. Casting for the new dates, as well as full creative team, are still to be confirmed.
Previously at the Arts Theatre, the queens were played by Aimie Atkinson, Christina Modestou, Genesis Lynea, Izuki Hoyle, Natalie Paris and Renee Lamb. Check out the original cast below releasing "Ex-Wives" from the show.

SIX runs at the Arts Theatre, London from 20 August to 23 September 2018. Tickets are priced £6-£39.50. CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE!
