Debbie Kurup created the role of Nicki Marron in the original West End cast of The Bodyguard. In 2013, her performance earned her three 'Best Performance in a Supporting Role' nominations respectively for the Olivier Awards, What's On Stage Awards and Broadway World UK Awards.
Other notable theatre credits include Queen Tuya in The Prince of Egypt (Dominion), The Woman in Blues in the Night (Kiln), Helen in Sweet Charity (Donmar Warehouse), Mrs Neilsen in Girl From The North Country (Old Vic), Lucy Brown in The Threepenny Opera (National); and in the West End, Velma Kelly in the production of Chicago, KT/Doloris in Sister Act at the London Palladium, Dee Dee in Tonight's The Night at the Victoria Palace Theatre and Mimi in Rent at the Prince of Wales Theatre.
An original cast recording of The Prince Of Egypt, the new musical based on the acclaimed DreamWorks Animation film, will be released on Ghostlight Records in digital and streaming formats on 3 April 2020. A physical CD will be available later this year.
