After decades of looking at food in a negative way it’s so refreshing to see people like GQ Jordan talking about food in a way to nourish, refuel and be kind to our bodies. I’m also so intrigued that it was a PCOS diagnosis that led to GQ deciding to retrain and pour all of her focus on what we put into our bodies and how we can help them from the inside out. I remember getting a PCOS diagnosis myself and also having no info other than a printed sheet from the internet. I felt so angry, and so very lost. If your baby (under 1) or child (over 1 to 18 years old) stops breathing. The key is rescue breaths and chest compressions. Here are the essential steps to follow from Mini First Aid 1. Check for danger - are they responsive? 2. Call 999 for help. 3. Open the airway and check for breathing for 10 seconds. 4. Give 5 rescue breaths. On a baby, place your mouth over their mouth and nose. On a child, pinch the nose and breathe into mouth. 5. Give 30 chest compressions. Placing 2 fingers in the centre of the chest for a baby and the heel of your hand for a child. 6. Press down to a third of the depth of the chest cavity. 7. Make sure they are on a hard surface. 8. Return to giving 2 breaths after the compressions and then repeat the pattern until help arrives. If you’re on your own, and you haven’t got your phone to hand, do a minute of CPR before going to get your phone and making the call. Book your Mini First Aid class to learn how to do CPR and practice on a mannequin so that you have the experience beforehand.
