Disney’s hit West End musicals The Lion King, Aladdin, the eagerly-anticipated Frozen, and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins will all take centre stage in the Disney in the West End Summer Pop-Up, set to open its doors to fans of all ages in Covent Garden from 23 July to 1 September 2019. It could open up a whole new world.

What a night for musical theatre at the Olivier Awards with Come From Away and Company each winning four prizes and awards going to the Sondheim show’s Jonathan Bailey and Patti LuPone. Also in the acting honours though were Tina – The Tina Turner Musical’s Kobna Holdbrook-Smith and Caroline, Or Change’s Sharon D Clarke. Plus among the performances Six The Musical almost blew the roof off the Royal Albert Hall!
The anticipation is properly building in the run up to the biggest night in the theatre calendar and now it has gone up a notch with news that all the nominated musicals will be performing at the Olivier Awards 2019 ceremony on 7 April at the Royal Albert Hall, plus The Lion King and Mamma Mia! will be celebrating 20 years in the West End. Not only that, last month it celebrated its 15 millionth guest, which we have to say is an achievement worth going down in the history books! 20 February 2018 marked the day Disney's THE LION KING celebrated the astonishing achievement of welcoming 15 million guests to the show. That's right...15 MILLION!!! To celebrate this awesome feat, they held a pop-up exhibition at London's Waterloo Station. We're sure it made the endless train delays that little bit more bearable!
